The purpose of this Investigation is to understand the life and beliefs held in Europe during the Middle Ages. Throughout this Investigation, students will study customs, manners, beliefs, and some of the historical events that occurred during the Middle Ages. Additionally, this Investigation will guide the learner in considering what traits a hero possesses and will use examples from this time period to help him or her in discover these elements. As students complete this Investigation, they will read from different stories about the time period, will respond to questions about the text, will identify the meaning of the vocabulary used at the time, will read poetry and ballads about the time period, and will participate in other writing exercises.

The purpose of this Investigation is to help the learner understand some of the
major events of the Middle Ages including the events that led to the loss of the fulness
of the gospel upon the earth and how that effected life in the Middle Ages. The
learner will also read several living texts aimed at giving the reader a greater perspective
of life during the time period. The learner will also read prayers of the time
period, study topic-related poetry, listen to music of the time, will learn of heroic
knights, and will study the heroic life of Joan of Arc. Additionally, as students complete
this Investigation, they will strengthen their writing abilities as they participate
in a creative writing assignment.
The science portion of this Investigation takes an exciting and real-life look at physics by engaging students in observation, reading, and critical thinking. Students explore foundational physics concepts—including motion, forces, and energy—through guided texts and videos that connect abstract ideas to everyday experiences. This approach helps students develop a deeper conceptual understanding of physics while understanding the real-life application.
